Terms
The terms for using netweir.com and docs.netweir.com. The software has its own licence.
In effect from 28 October 2026.
These terms cover the websites netweir.com and docs.netweir.com ("the sites"), run by James Conway ("we", "us"). By using the sites you agree to them. If you don't, please don't use the sites.
The software is licensed separately
These terms don't cover the Netweir software. It's yours to use under the GNU Affero General Public License, version 3, or under a commercial licence you agree with us (see Licensing). Contributions are covered by the contributor licence agreement.
Using Netweir responsibly
Netweir is a tool, and you're responsible for how you use it. Before you crawl a site, make sure you're allowed to: respect its terms, its rate limits and the law where you and the site are, including laws on computer access, copyright and personal data. Don't use Netweir to get into accounts or systems you're not authorised to use, to collect personal data unlawfully, or to overload a site. Netweir checks robots.txt by default; turning that off doesn't change what you're allowed to do.
What's on the sites
The documentation, blog posts and code examples on the sites are there for you to read and use while working with Netweir. Code examples may be copied into your own projects under the same licence as Netweir, or freely if they're too short to be anything but how to call it. The Netweir name and logo are covered by the trademark policy.
Please don't attack the sites, try to get around their security, scrape them hard enough to slow them down, or use the licence form to send spam.
No warranty
The sites and everything on them are provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that they're accurate, complete, available or fit for a particular purpose. Benchmarks are measurements on particular machines, and yours will differ.
Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the sites. Our total liability for anything to do with the sites is limited to US$100. Some places don't allow these limits, in which case they apply only as far as the law there permits.
Links
The sites link to GitHub, PyPI and other sites we don't control. We're not responsible for their content or their terms.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top says when they last changed, and using the sites after a change means you accept the new terms.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute about them or the sites goes to the state or federal courts in Colorado, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it there.
